Se utilizan dos verbos en español que significan ser: "ser" y "estar". Hasta ahora, se ha utilizado "ser" para decir el origen, para indicar los días de la semana, las fechas y la hora, y para describir la personalidad y las características físicas inherentes.

Has usado ‘estar’ con las expresiones ‘¿Cómo está usted? ¿Y cómo estás? Cuando ‘estar’ se usa con la preposición ‘en’ (in, at), indica la ubicación de personas, lugares u objetos.

Estudie las formas del tiempo presente del verbo ‘estar’ (ser), así como las oraciones de muestra.

You have used two Spanish verbs that mean to be: ‘ser’ and ‘estar’. So far, you have used ‘ser’ to tell origin, to indicate days of the week, dates and time, and to describe inherent personality and physical characteristics. 

You have used ‘estar’ with the expressions ‘¿Cómo está usted? And ¿Cómo estás? When ‘estar’ is used with the preposition ‘en’ (in, at), it indicates the location of people, places, or objects.

Study the forms of the present tense of the verb ‘estar’ (to be), as well as the sample sentences.
